Modeling of Simultaneous Changes in Stratospheric and Tropospheric Ozone
ISARD-2025-ozon005
The subject of the study is the ozone content in the troposphere and stratosphere. The aim of the work is to analyze the degree of mutual influence of stratospheric and tropospheric ozone on each other. Physical and chemical processes that determine the long-term variability of ozone content in the troposphere and stratosphere are considered. Particular attention is paid to the influence of volatile organic components on tropospheric and stratospheric ozone.
The method for achieving the goal is numerical modeling using chemical-climatic models, which vary the degree of consideration of certain processes affecting the ozone content. Among these processes, the main attention is paid to the flows of hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides from the surface. In numerical experiments, the effect of methane oxidation on the formation of tropospheric ozone and its relationship with stratospheric ozone is first considered. Then the mechanism of oxidation of isoprene and related gases is added, and then other volatile organic components.
