Study of the dynamics of methane concentration based on multiple data products of the TROPOMI spectrometer at high latitudes
ISARD-2025-satellite012
To study the spatiotemporal variations in the distribution of atmospheric methane based on TROPOMI spectrometer data for the period 2018–2024 (May–September), the territories of Western and Eastern Siberia and the Far East (52°-85° N 60°-170° E) were selected in this work. To analyze the data quality, a map of the density of coverage by data based on the RemoTeC and WFMD products of the TROPOMI spectrometer was constructed. Distribution maps of average methane concentration values for three TROPOMI spectrometer products were also constructed. Based on the results of the analysis for the 2018-2024 study period, a trend towards an increase in methane concentration was identified for all three TROPOMI data products. Based on the constructed distribution maps of average methane concentration values, an analysis was carried out, and several zones of “data artifacts” were identified.
