The article examines the crucial role of foreign investment in the transformation of the South American economy, where integration with global economic processes allows the countries of the region not only to master the latest technologies, but also to provide investors with the opportunity to locate subsidiaries in order to increase material wealth. With the emergence of new jobs, as well as active investment of capital in the countries' economies, it is evidenced that the region is open to the introduction of innovative trends. The economic policy of many South American states, expressed in the creation of specialized economic zones, offshore structures, demonstrates their desire to liberalize business conditions and maximize the attraction of investment flows, which in the future may become the cornerstone of their sustainable development.
