Much has been discussed about the geopolitical relevance of BRICS+ in the contemporary landscape, especially regarding its capacity for insubordination in the face of the power structures of the traditional global order. The expansion of the group, now including Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, reinforces its vocation to represent the interests of the Global South. At the 2025 summit, in light of systemic challenges, the group reaffirmed its commitment to more inclusive and sustainable governance, highlighting the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) as a strategic axis. This paper analyses the trajectory of cybersecurity initiatives and the incorporation of AI into the BRICS+ framework since its inception, observing the growing institutionalisation of these agendas. The focus shifts to Brazil's role, encompassing its national strategies, public policies, ongoing projects, and international positioning in the digital security debate. It is argued that artificial intelligence, intersecting with cybersecurity, constitutes a new field of contestation within the global system, and that Brazil has sought to build technical and diplomatic leadership in these agendas. This research aims to contribute empirically through the analysis of data on Brazilian initiatives in the field of security and theoretically, by connecting the technological agenda with international security studies. Finally, it presents perspectives for strengthening cooperation on cybersecurity and the growing prominence of artificial intelligence within BRICS+.
